WELD CHECKERS
WHY IS A WELDING AMMMETER IS NECESSARY?
The necessity of welding quality control for
micro resistance welding
Micro resistance welding quality is determined by the following four
elements.
- Current
- Weld time
- Force applied
- Electrode tip diameter
In order to maintain stable welding quality at all times, it is necessary to check each of these four elements periodically. However, except for the electrode tip diameter, it is not possible to check the three elements visually. Therefore, it is necessary to measure and monitor them with a weld checker and manage them correctly.
Can measure large current in a short period
of time.
Because large welding current flows in a short period of time and there
are various waveforms, it is necessary to measure with a welding
ammeter that is specially designed for measuring the welding current
waveform and current value.
Can measure and monitor restricted to the
necessary range.
In resistance welding in general, the start and end part of the applied
current does not have so much effect on the weld strength. By monitoring
the weld current in a specific range where nugget is formed,
the more effective management of the weld current is possible ignoring
the less important part of the current applied to the work piece.
